The 2019 Nissan Altima now has available AWD!

620 × 240

The Nissan Altima drives into the 2019 model year with a total redesign! We love the new looks, features, and available amenities aboard this popular midsize sedan. However, there's one new change we want to highlight, and we think it's going to be a hit with Colorado drivers, especially during times of inclement weather.

In case you missed the news, the 2019 Nissan Altima now comes with available all-wheel drive! In the past, you could only get the Altima in front-wheel drive. Not only can you now get AWD, but the Altima even has the esteemed title of being the most fuel-efficient AWD sedan in its class. Take that, competition!

Should you go the AWD route?

In some parts of the country, having AWD isn't really necessary, but in Colorado it's definitely appreciated. AWD helps you when accelerating on snowy streets, and that can mean the difference between getting out of your driveway, up a hill, or to the mountain or having to stay put. This system is also nice to have when it's rainy out, and many drivers say that it gives them added peace of mind, especially if they are using the midsize sedan as a family vehicle.

What Altima options have available AWD?

Any of the Altima models with the standard 2.5L engine can upgrade to the AWD system. If you buy or lease a 2019 Nissan Altima with the 2.0L turbo engine, the AWD system isn't available. You do need to sacrifice performance for traction, though we do like that even the base model Altima can get AWD.

If you've been thinking of sizing up to a Nissan crossover just for the sake of getting optional AWD — even though you prefer driving around in a sedan — now you don't have to make the leap! And since there's plenty of winter left in Colorado this year, now is a great time to stop into our showroom this week to check out our selection of 2019 Nissan Altima midsize sedans and really take advantage of the all-new AWD system.
